Land Rover Defender 130 Patent Images Leak

Land Rover nailed the design of the new Defender without a doubt

The Land Rover Defender 130 patent images provide a clear picture of the upcoming model’s design

Patent images of the Land Rover Defender 130 which is currently under development have leaked onto the internet.

To be positioned above the 3-door Defender 90 and 5-door Defender 110, the 130 carries the same design as the other 2 models and is, predictably, a bit longer.

It is based on the Defender 110

Based on the Defender 110, the 130 seems to have retained the former’s 3022 mm wheelbase and the changes have occurred post the rear axle.

Its 5105 mm length is significantly longer than the 110 model and since the additional space has been added aft the rear wheels, the third row must be spacious enough for adults to travel in.

Of course, it goes without saying that boot space would also be increased as a by-product of the extra length, making the off-road SUV even more practical.

The Defender is a luxurious utility vehicle

Design-wise, the model in the Land Rover Defender 130 patent images and the car spotted on-road testing thus far look identical. There will be a quarter glass for the third row, which the patent images do not show.

With the capacity to seat up to 8 people, the off-roader which is based on Land Rover’s MLA platform, the same as the new Range Rover, will come with a similar set of features as other Defender models.

Its should come with more cargo capacity than other Defender models

Similarly, it will most likely make do with the Defender 110’s engine and transmission choices and could even get a SVR variant powered by BMW’s 4.4-litre twin turbocharged V8 motor. In the new Range Rover, the engine puts out 530 PS and 750 Nm.

Since the car is expected to go on sale only before the end of 2022, expect to see more spy shots and new information about the model should also leak over time.
