Lando Norris Wins The Chaotic 2025 British Grand Prix

Lando Norris Wins The British Grand Prix Ahead Of Oscar Piastri & Nico Hulkenberg, Finshing P3 After 239 Race Starts

Lando Norris won a chaotic British Grand Prix. This marks the 25th win for a British driver at the British Grand Prix! However, this victory proved challenging, despite Oscar Piastri, the main rival, receiving a 10-second penalty and polesitter Max Verstappen spinning out due to a loss of grip.

Race Start

The safety car concluded the formation lap, tempting drivers like Charles Leclerc and George Russell to start the race from the pit lane on a rapidly drying track. The five lights went out, and Max Verstappen maintained his lead after a sensational pole lap.

However, Oscar Piastri overtook him and proceeded to lead the race from that point. But then came the two Safety Car periods, on the latter of which the Australian driver was handed a 10-second penalty for slowing down too quickly before the race start.

During his second pit stop, Oscar Piastri served his penalty, which caused him to drop to P2. Lando Norris controlled the race from there as he took the chequered flag. A bit of tension existed between the two drivers as, in the final laps, the Australian driver requested the team to swap positions if they deemed the penalty unfair.

Nico Hulkenberg & Lewis Hamilton

Surprisingly, it was Nico Hulkenberg who scored a monumental P3, completing the podium. The talented German driver has had wretched luck whenever he wanted to score a podium, after 239 starts. Hulkenberg defended against Lewis Hamilton, who was not able to overtake the German on used tyres or close the gap after switching to soft tyres.

Top 10

This P3 finish was a mixture of good luck and perfect strategy, even after a 4-second pit stop. Lewis Hamilton took P4, ending his podium streak in his home race since he entered F1. Max Verstappen was able to recover from the spin and finished P5. Pierre Gasly also qualified in the top 10 and finished P6 after a thrilling drive.

Lance Stroll finished P7, after being in the podium position and getting overtaken by Hulkenberg and Hamilton. It was a good day for Aston Martin as Fernando Alonso also scored points. Alex Albon split the two Aston Martins and finished P8.

However, George Russell had a disappointing home race weekend as he made a few sarcastic team radio calls about the strategy before finishing P10. This action has secured Ferrari 2nd place in the constructors standings, despite Charles Leclerc finishing P14 after a disappointing race.

The championship appears to be back as the two McLaren drivers are separated by just 8 points. F1 will race next at Spa Francorchamps on July 25-27.
