Mahindra Commences Mojo Trial Production, Launch Soon

Trial production of the much awaited Mahindra Mojo has commenced which points to a launch in the next two months, overshooting the previous April launch date.

The Mojo gets many changes from the concept that was showcased in 2012

Mahindra has been testing the Mojo since forever now but the flagship offering has at last begun with the trial production stage. The Mojo has been generating loads of hype ever since it was showcased almost five years back and has even generated a big fan following in the process. Mahindra had even exported the Mojo to UAE for an exhibit recently. The company has done well with its scooters and the entry-level commuter, Centuro has given them a decent name in the motorcycle market. Mahindra is planning to launch a new product every six months and the next product is definitely going to be the Mojo.

According to latest reports, the flagship motorcycle has commenced the initial phase of trial production at Mahindra’s Pithampur facility near Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The Mojo was expected to be launched in April 2015, but Mahindra may not be able to stick to their timeline and the motorcycle will most likely be delayed by two months. Mahindra 2 Wheelers has always arrived late to the party with their offerings, but have come up with products that have good features on offer and attractive pricing. With the Mojo having finally completed a long period of testing, Mahindra is trying to make the Mojo a hit in its very first attempt.

The Mahindra Mojo is expected to be priced below Rs. 2 lakhs (ex-showroom) which will make it a very good proposition. Mahindra is targeting long distance touring enthusiasts with its upright and comfortable riding position. The Mojo is powered by a 295cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected single cylinder engine which generates a maximum power of 27 BHP at 8000 RPM while peak torque stands at 25 Nm at 6500 RPM. The Mojo features twin circular headlamps with LED DRLs shaped as eyelids, twin golden ornamental tubes below the redesigned fuel tank as also seen on the Centuro, a tall stance, a rather chunky silencer and a small taillight.

Expect the Mahindra Mojo will be a practical and feature rich motorcycle.
