Mahindra Thar Roxx Based Military ATV Revealed

Mahindra has showcased a new all-terrain vehicle derived from the Mahindra Thar Roxx, highlighting its focus on specialised mobility solutions for defence use. The reveal was shared online by Anand Mahindra, indicating the company’s continued interest in purpose-built vehicles for demanding environments.

This ATV adopts a significantly pared-down approach compared to its donor SUV. Traditional body panels have been minimised, with standard doors replaced by lightweight tubular frames. The roof structure has also been removed in favour of a roll cage, suggesting a clear emphasis on durability, visibility and ease of operation in extreme conditions.

In terms of equipment, the vehicle is configured with features suited to tactical and off-road applications. These include provisions for mounting equipment, reinforced underbody protection, external fuel storage options and a front-mounted winch. Additional elements such as a windshield guard further point towards its intended use in challenging terrains.

The ATV also appears to sit higher than the standard model and is fitted with specialised off-road tyres, which should enhance its capability across rough surfaces. However, Mahindra has not yet disclosed detailed technical specifications or mechanical changes, leaving aspects like engine configuration and drivetrain setup unconfirmed.

Overall, the concept reflects a utilitarian approach, prioritising functionality and adaptability over comfort, in line with requirements typically associated with military-grade vehicles.
