The Mahindra XUV700 was first launched a little over 4 years ago and the vehicle has received a slew of updates over the last few years. The SUV is due for a proper mid-life facelift and the same will be launched on 5th January 2026.
With the launch of the facelift, Mahindra will also be renaming the vehicle from XUV700 to XUV 7XO. This same nomenclature is followed on the SUV’s younger sibling which went from XUV300 to XUV 3XO.
The name of the SUV will change, but what else will be the new? On the outside, the XUV 7XO will get new alloy wheels, new front & rear bumpers, redesigned lights and a revised grille. The new tail lamps are likely to be similar to those on the recently-launched XEV 9S while the headlamps will get a fresh design. Most other body panels will remain unchanged.
The cabin will be updated with a triple screen layout and some new features are also expected. Mahindra should also equip the vehicle with an auto-dimming IRVM now. There is a possibility of the automaker offering newer upholstery colour options.
No mechanical changes are expected on the SUV. It’ll continue with the same mStallion and mHawk engines. The 2.0-litre petrol engine delivers 200 HP while the 2.2-litre diesel engine churns out 185 HP. Both the engines are offered with a 6-speed MT or AT and the same will continue with the facelift. AWD will be offered with the diesel engine only.
The XUV 7XO will be offered in 7-seater and 6-seater configurations. The vehicle will rival the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, Toyota Innova HyCross and Tata Safari. Currently, the XUV700 retails at Rs. 16.50 – 30.65 Lakh, OTR Mumbai. With the launch of the facelift, prices are expected to go up marginally.
