Looks like the car will have a long waiting period from the get-go

No word yet from Mahindra about the official commencement of the bookings of the XUV700

Mahindra dealers have begun accepting bookings for the XUV700 in the country. This is, of course, unofficial as the brand is yet to formally announce the opening of order books for the SUV.

On the eve of the country’s 75th Independence Day, Mahindra announced prices for select grades of the XUV700. As a result, customer enquiries and bookings have started to pour in.

The token amount for the unofficial bookings is Rs. 25,000/- in Bengaluru. But, this price could change depending upon the dealer and the State as all Mahindra dealerships have begun taking orders.

It is said some dealers are receiving 10 to 15 bookings every day. Thus, expect an official word on the matter from Mahindra pretty soon.

The SUV will be offered in both 2-row and 3-row seating arrangements

Offered in 4 variants MX, AX3, AX5 and AX7, the XUV700 will be sold in 5- and 7-seat formats initially. Soon, the asking price of all of the variants will be announced.

Even the base model will come with features such as a 7-inch instrument display, 8-inch touchscreen, smart door handles, day-night IRVM, power adjustable ORVM and LED tail lights.

The SUV will be offered with 2 engine options – a 2.0-litre turbo petrol (200 PS and 380 Nm) and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel in 2 states of tune (155 PS and 360 Nm, and 185 PS and up to 450 Nm). The gearbox options are limited to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
