Mahindra has announced that its newly launched SUVs, the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S, have received a combined 93,689 bookings as of 2:00 PM on January 14, 2026. Based on ex-showroom prices, the company estimates the booking value to exceed Rs. 20,500 crore.
Deliveries for the XUV 7XO have begun immediately, while the XEV 9S is scheduled to be delivered in phases starting from the week of January 26, 2026. With these two products, Mahindra continues to expand its presence in the Rs. 15-30 lakh SUV price bracket, where it already offers multiple internal combustion and electric models.
The XUV 7XO is a refreshed version of the XUV700, retaining its existing powertrain choices:
- 2.0-litre turbo-petrol: 197 BHP / 380 Nm
- 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel: 185 BHP / 420-450 Nm
Transmission options include both manual and automatic gearboxes and the model can be configured for six- or seven-seat layouts. Notable equipment includes triple 10.25-inch displays, wireless connectivity features and ADAS-based safety systems. The SUV is positioned toward urban and family buyers prioritising interior space and comfort.
The XEV 9S is an electric derivative that uses the XUV 7XO bodyshell but is built on Mahindra’s Inglo born-electric platform. The model produces 380 Nm of torque and supports fast charging at up to 180 kW, enabling an estimated 20-80% recharge in roughly 20 minutes.
It is configured as a seven-seater and places emphasis on software-driven systems, ground clearance, efficiency and performance, reflecting Mahindra’s strategy for the electric mobility segment.
With bookings crossing the 90,000-unit mark shortly after launch, Mahindra’s latest models have drawn significant attention in both the ICE and EV midsize SUV categories. How bookings translate into deliveries over 2026 will be watched closely as the company expands its electric product rollout.
