The Hero Xtreme 200R was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and immediately drew the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts who wanted an alternative to the ever so popular Pulsar 220. The Xtreme 200R is based on the Xtreme Sports and is powered by a 200cc engine that gives it punchy performance while modern hardware bits like a monoshock suspension and optional ABS has been used. The Hero Xtreme 200R also rivals the TVS Apache 200.

Hero Xtreme 200R Features

The Hero Xtreme 200R produces good amount of power and torque for city riding but is still less powerful than the Karizma which was launched way back in 2003. Hero clearly is targeting the sub Rs. 1 lakh segment where the Pulsar and Apache series of bikes have become very popular. The Hero Xtreme 200R is the second bike from the company to get a rear monoshock suspension.

The Hero Xtreme 200R is a performance bike for those on a budget. While it will not give the Pulsar NS 200 or even the TVS Apache 200 a run for its money in performance, it will beat them on price as the company has shared parts of the Xtreme 200R with the Xtreme Sports. This motorcycle also helps Hero retain customers in the family. The Hero Xtreme 200R might be late to the party but is finally a big bike from Hero after the tepid response to the new Karizmas.
