By this time, everyone and their neighbours are aware of a new Maruti Suzuki Swift in the pipeline. In the past couple of days, every major media has been carrying news on the upcoming new Swift. With production stopped of the current Maruti Swift, customers who have booked the car are confused about which model they will be getting. Maruti Suzuki has cleared the air by telling its dealers to ask customers to upgrade to the new Swift which goes on sale in August, 2011. Now this is blessing in disguise to the customers who had booked the old Swift as they will get the new Swift, before the people who booked the new Swift.

The country’s largest car maker (by volume) has send a circular to the dealers to let current bookings be converted into an upgrade of the new Swift. If you have booked the old Swift, you should receive a call from your dealer soon, asking you to upgrade to the new model. Some of the major highlights of the new Swift, other than a new interior and exterior is the lighter body shell boosting fuel efficiency marginally. The diesel variant of the Swift will be available with all the bells and whistles as Maruti will be launched a ZDi variant this time around.
