The Maruti Baleno is jostling for space with its sisters for production-floor space

Maruti as a car manufacturer is considered as the most trustworthy and reliable business in the country due to its value for money cars and their general low-cost of ownership. Recent new launches by the company such as the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno in particular have shown astronomical growth rates since their introduction in the market and their demand far outnumbers their supply from the factory. Thus, to tackle this problem, Maruti is pushing hard to make its upcoming new facility in Gujarat functioning soon and start churning out Baleno cars as soon as February 2017.

The automotive has said that the only road-block right now in its plan of fast-paced growth is the capacity constraint at its plants. Recent premium launches by the company namely the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno have long waiting lists. The company is currently having hard time managing production floor space for at its two facility in Manesar, Gurgaon.

The Indian auto major is fully confident of achieving its target of selling two million vehicles in the country by 2020. New global cars from Maruti has also enabled the company to ramp up the lucrative export numbers and sending Indian-made cars to Europe and Japan, thereby further pressurising the production line. The Gujarat factory, with its vicinity to a sea port, is expected to handle the export duties for the company.

The company is bullish of its growth prospective due to the upcoming festive season, good monsoons, the GST being passed by the Parliament and payout made by the Pay Commission. Sales of Maruti cars have increased by 11.5% in the domestic market to about 1.3 million units whereas exports grew marginally by 1.8%.
