Maruti Brezza Facelift Teased, Bookings Open Ahead Of 24th July Launch

Maruti Suzuki has commenced bookings for the updated Brezza ahead of its scheduled debut on July 24. Customers can reserve the compact SUV by paying a token amount of Rs. 11,000 through Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships or the company’s official website.

The upcoming Brezza facelift is expected to receive its first major update since the second-generation model was introduced in 2022. Along with cosmetic revisions, the refreshed SUV is likely to offer additional features and a new turbo-petrol engine option.

One of the biggest expected changes is the introduction of Maruti Suzuki’s 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, which is currently available in the Fronx. In that application, the three-cylinder engine produces 100 HP and 148 Nm of torque. It is expected to be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and CNG variants are likely to continue.

If the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is introduced, select variants of the Brezza could qualify for the lower GST slab applicable to petrol vehicles with engine capacities of up to 1200cc, potentially improving their price competitiveness. The Brezza is currently the only compact SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine option.

Design updates are expected to be evolutionary rather than extensive. The facelift could feature revised front and rear bumpers, updated lighting elements and a new alloy wheel design. Spy images have also hinted at refreshed interior trim and a revised cabin colour scheme.

The feature list is also expected to be expanded. Depending on the variant, the updated Brezza could offer a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, front parking sensors and Level 2 ADAS.

While Maruti Suzuki has not announced prices for the facelifted model, it is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current Brezza, which is available between Rs. 8.26 lakhs and Rs. 12.86 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to compete with rivals including the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Kia Syros and Skoda Kylaq.
