Maruti Suzuki Recalls Ignis Over Rear Parking Sensor Concern

Maruti Suzuki has initiated a recall campaign for the Ignis hatchback following a potential issue related to the vehicle’s rear parking sensor system. The recall comes despite the model having been discontinued from the company’s lineup.

According to information circulated by an authorised dealership, the issue is linked to a component within the controller assembly, which may cause the reverse parking sensor to operate inconsistently under certain conditions. As a precautionary measure, the automaker has decided to replace the affected part in vehicles identified under the recall programme.

The company has reportedly started contacting owners of impacted Ignis units and is advising them to visit their nearest authorised Maruti Suzuki service centre. The corrective action will be carried out free of charge.

While Maruti Suzuki has not yet disclosed the total number of vehicles involved or the production period affected by the recall, the initiative is aimed at ensuring proper functionality of the parking assistance system and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Owners seeking further details have been encouraged to get in touch with their authorised workshop to verify whether their vehicle is covered under the recall and to schedule an appointment for the replacement procedure.
