The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has crossed the 1 lakh sales mark in India, reaching the milestone within a little over eight months of its market launch in September 2025. The achievement highlights the strong initial demand for the compact SUV, which has emerged as an important contributor to Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle portfolio.
According to wholesale dispatch data, the Victoris recorded cumulative sales of 1,00,165 units by the end of May 2026. The model gained momentum quickly after launch, crossing the 50,000-unit mark within its first five months on sale. Its strongest monthly performance came in January 2026, when Maruti Suzuki dispatched 15,240 units to dealerships.
The Victoris has also played a growing role in the company’s SUV business. During January 2026, it accounted for around one-fifth of Maruti Suzuki’s total utility vehicle sales. However, it remained behind the Ertiga and Brezza, which continued to be the brand’s top-selling UVs during that period.
The milestone is significant because the Victoris reached the 1 lakh-unit mark faster than the mechanically related Grand Vitara, which took roughly a year to achieve similar sales volumes. That said, it is not the quickest SUV in its segment to hit the benchmark, with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta facelift having achieved the feat in a shorter timeframe.
Between August 2025 and May 2026, Maruti Suzuki sold more than seven lakh utility vehicles in India, with the Victoris contributing approximately 14 percent of the total volume. In the current financial year, covering April and May 2026, the SUV ranks among the company’s leading utility vehicle offerings, although it trails the Fronx, Ertiga and Brezza in sales.
The Victoris is based on the same platform as the Grand Vitara and shares its range of powertrains. Buyers can choose from a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine, a strong-hybrid setup and a factory-fitted petrol-CNG option. Transmission choices include manual, automatic and e-CVT units depending on the variant, while select mild-hybrid versions are also available with all-wheel drive.
One of the Victoris’ key strengths is its broad feature list. Depending on the variant, the SUV offers features such as Level 2 ADAS, a space-efficient underbody-mounted CNG tank and a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. These elements help differentiate it from some of its direct rivals as well as its platform-sharing sibling.
The Victoris is sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealership network, while the Grand Vitara continues to be retailed through Nexa outlets. The SUV is currently priced between Rs. 10.77 lakhs and Rs. 19.72 lakhs (ex-showroom).
With demand remaining relatively strong and exports also contributing to volumes, the Victoris appears well-positioned to further strengthen its presence in India’s competitive SUV market in the coming months.
