Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Variant Details Leaked

Just a week before its official debut, variant details of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza have come out. It comes with a diesel engine and six variants.

The variant spread is wide, base variant targetted towards a low starting price

Maruti Suzuki will be making an entry to the sub 4-metre compact SUV segment with the Vitara Brezza in the Indian market. To be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo next week, the car has been generating a lot of interest. Until now, we only had speculative details about the SUV. But now, variant details are out and they are similar to other Maruti cars. The company will be offering six variants – LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+.

The base variant of the Maruti Vitara Brezza will come with 15-inch steel wheels, front power windows, manual AC, Bluetooth audio system, driver footrest and a driver side airbag. The LDi (O) adds a passenger side airbag and ABS with EBD. The VDi variant gets blacked out A-B-C pillars, skid plates at the front and rear, black roof rails, wheel caps, keyless entry and rear power windows in addition to the features on the LDi. The addition of skid plates and roof rails will make it look more SUVish. The VDi (O) model sees addition of safety features similar to LDi (O).

It is the ZDi variant of the Maruti Vitara Brezza which is well-loaded and gets all the modern car features. It gets 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps with DRLs, climate control AC, audio controls on steering wheel, rear window washer and wiper, dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The ZDi+ variant gets a lot of additional features like auto headlamps, rain sensing auto wipers, keyless entry and go, SmartPlay infotainment system with reverse parking camera and navigation, cruise control and dual-tone paint option.

Looking at the variant spread, it can be easily deduced that Maruti is looking at an attractive starting price for the Vitara Brezza since the LDi variant is bare bones. At the same time, they have made sure that the top-end variant is very well loaded to attract customers who value features more than price. A starting price of under Rs. 7 lakhs (ex-showroom) seems highly likely and after committing a pricing miscalculation with the S-Cross, the Japanese automaker is not in a position to take any risks this time.
