Maruti Suzuki Victoris Exports Commence From India

Maruti begins Victoris exports under Suzuki Across branding for global markets

Maruti Suzuki has started exporting the Victoris to international markets, with shipments leaving from the ports of Mundra and Pipavav in Gujarat. The first batch consisted of slightly over 450 units and is being sent under the Suzuki Across nameplate to select overseas regions.

Export positioning and market coverage

The Victoris, which will eventually be sold in more than 100 markets, adds to Maruti Suzuki’s growing export portfolio that already includes models such as the Fronx, e Vitara and Jimny. Export operations for these models cover regions like Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, depending on the nameplate and specification.

For the Across branding, the model is intended for emerging markets rather than Europe. It is distinct from the UK-specific Suzuki Across that uses Toyota RAV4 underpinnings and features a plug-in hybrid setup; the two vehicles share only the name.

Mechanical specifications

Export versions of the Victoris are mechanically aligned with the India-spec model. The compact SUV uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 103 BHP and 139 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Some international markets will also receive a hybrid variant powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine coupled with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of about 116 HP through an e-CVT gearbox.

Context on Maruti Suzuki’s exports

Maruti Suzuki currently leads India in passenger vehicle exports, driven by increasing demand for compact and midsize vehicles. Over the last five years, the company’s export volumes have grown significantly faster than the broader industry average. Company leadership has indicated that adding the Victoris to the export portfolio aligns with long-term plans to expand the brand’s reach in overseas markets.
