Mercedes B-Class Facelift Launch On 11th March

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class has learnt from its siblings and looks much sportier than the oddly styled older model. It is already on sale in global markets and looks set to be a hit amongst India’s younger audience.

The front end looks much more young and appealing

Mercedes-Benz will be launching the 2015 B-Class facelift in India on 11th March. The 2015 B-Class will be the third launch of the 15 new model launches planned from Mercedes and the new model will be making it to our shores just a few months after it made its world premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The facelift is set to carry minor visual updates the the B-Class’ exterior adding a sense of sportiness with elegance. There are also a few subtle changes in the interior to make the car feel fresh.

The 2015 Mercedes B-Class, like the older version will be brought into the country via the CBU route initially and will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The changes to the exterior are not too many and the 2015 B-Class now gets a well sculpted new front grille, LED DRLs with projector headlamps, new front bumper, new alloy wheels (offered in either 16 or 17-inch size), side skirts, redesigned rear bumper with neatly integrated exhausts and the tail lights now feature LED lighting. Inside the cabin, the B-Class gets a large COMAND infotainment system most likely 8-inches in size, a new steering wheel borrowed from the C-Class, push button start and ambient LED lighting.

Under the hood, the engines will remain the same as on the pre-facelift model and they are the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol motor producing 120 BHP and 200 Nm of torque, and the 2.1-litre diesel engine churning out 107 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. Both the engines will be transferring power through the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. We do expect these engines to generate additional power than before but only marginally. Currently, prices for the Mercedes B-Class start at around Rs. 29 lakhs and from the looks of it, the facelifted model will only get a small rise in prices.
