MG Majestor Revealed For India, Price Announcement In April

MG Majestor unveiled as new flagship three-row SUV

MG Motor India has unveiled the new MG Majestor, positioning it above the Gloster as the brand’s flagship SUV in India. The full-size, body-on-frame SUV will rival established models such as the Toyota Fortuner, while also targeting premium monocoque SUVs like the Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq. Bookings are open at Rs. 41,000/-, with prices set to be announced in April and deliveries scheduled to begin in May 2026.

The Majestor will be offered in four variants, with both six- and seven-seat configurations available. It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 HP and 478 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive and an on-demand four-wheel-drive system. The 4WD versions include terrain management modes through ‘M-Hub’ software and a low-speed ‘M-Crawl’ function, along with differential locks. MG claims a water-wading capacity of up to 810mm.

In terms of design, the Majestor retains much of the visual identity of the global Maxus D90, with an upright stance, large proportions and squared-off rear styling. Exterior highlights include a ‘Mosaic Matrix’ grille, LED lighting elements, 19-inch alloy wheels on higher trims and full-width tail-lamps. Measuring 5046 mm in length with a 2950 mm wheelbase, the SUV offers 343 litres of boot space with the third row up, expanding to 1350 litres when folded.

Inside, the cabin features a two-tone theme with imitation leather upholstery and soft-touch materials. The six-seater layout includes second-row captain seats, while the seven-seater uses a bench configuration. Equipment includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a matching digital instrument cluster, tri-zone climate control, ventilated and massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof and a 12-speaker JBL audio system. Safety features comprise Level 2 ADAS functions, electronic stability control, multiple airbags and a 360-degree camera system. With its combination of size, features and diesel powertrain, the Majestor strengthens MG’s presence in the premium SUV segment.
