New Maruti Swift Starts At Rs 4.22 Lakhs

Maruti Suzuki has just launched the most awaited hatchback of the year, the New Swift. The company has priced the base version of the Swift at Rs. 4.22 lakhs while the top of the line ZDi variant is priced at Rs. 6.38 lakhs. (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has invested close to Rs. 550 crores on the new Maruti Swift and has received more than 50000 bookings of the car already. Maruti Suzuki has sold more than six lakh units of the Swift, since its launch in 2005 and has managed to achieve 95% localization on the new model. Driver and passenger airbags along with ABS, EBD and brake assist are not offered on the VXi and VDi variants but the Swift website mentions otherwise. Maruti Suzuki has increased the Swift production capacity to 17000 units from the current 12000 units and intent to deliver all the 50000 cars to the customers in the next 100 days (3.5 months).
