New-Gen Audi A4 Rolls Out Of Production Line, Launch In 2021

The carmaker has taken its sweet time to bring the model to India

The very first units of the 2021 Audi A4 have rolled out of the production line at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) plant in Aurangabad.

Set to get launched early next year, the luxury sedan will follow a slew of SUVs such as the Q2, Q8 (and its RS derivative), that were introduced in the Indian market this year.

Essentially a facelift of the model launched way back in 2016, the 2021 Audi A4 will come with updated aesthetics which include new headlights with DRLs, similarly designed tail lamps, revised bumpers and dual exhaust outlets.

There will be 2 alloy wheel options, 18- and 19-inch jobbies, and overall, the car looks like a small A8, making it appear much more posher.

Changes to the inside will include an updated infotainment system with the latest connectivity features. Also, the rotary dial on the centre console makes way for a touchpad and a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit will be offered.

This time around, Audi will plonk a 2.0-litre TFSI motor, putting out 190 PS and 320 Nm, under the bonnet. It will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

While Audi might offer the Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard, we could also see a mild-hybrid system present on the car to help increase its efficiency.

With the 2021 Audi A4 production underway and its launch nearing, we can estimate it to be priced on a par with its rivals such as the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class and the Jaguar XE.
