Nissan Magnite Red Edition gets a host of feature additions and sporty exterior detailing

Nissan Motor India will launch a special Red Edition of its Magnite compact SUV on 18th July and the pre-launch bookings for the same are currently open at Nissan dealerships across India. The car can also be booked via Nissan’s website https://book.nissan.in/.

With over 1 lakh bookings and 50,000 deliveries, Nissan Magnite continues on its successful stint in the Indian market. In the Red Edition, the exteriors of the Magnite have been upped with red accents on the front grille, front bumper, wheel arch, and body side cladding.

Major design additions include new body graphics, a tail door garnish, an LED scuff plate, and a prominent Red Edition specific badge. On the features front, the new edition gets a wireless charger and an ambient mood lighting.

Based on the XV variant, the Red Edition also carries forward the features such as the 8-inch touchscreen with Wifi connectivity, 7-inch full-TFT instrument cluster, LED DRLs, R16 Diamond-cut alloy wheels, push button start/stop, LED fog lamp, vehicle dynamics control, traction control, brake assist, hill start assist, etc.

The Nissan Magnite Red Edition is offered in 3 variants – XV MT Red Edition, Turbo XV MT Red Edition, and Turbo XV CVT Red Edition. It is to be noted that Nissan recently updated the compact SUV with dual horn, shark fin antenna, and a PM2.5 filter.

On the inside, ambient lighting is the latest addition

Under the hood, the Magnite comes with the option of 2 petrol engines – a 1-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated unit producing 72 HP and the same 1-liter engine in a turbo avatar that churns out 100 HP and 160 Nm.

In terms of gearbox options, both engines come mated either to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The turbo-petrol additionally gets the option of a CVT autobox with a slight reduction in overall torque numbers.

Interestingly, the Red Edition is going to be launched 2 days prior to the launch of its upcoming competitor Citroen C3. Both are expected to take the fight head on against each other in offering maximum value in the compact SUV space.
