QJMotor SRV500 Spied, New Benelli Cruiser In The Making?

The cruiser might be rebranded as a Benelli model in the future

If you follow Benelli closely, then chances are you might have heard about QJMotor, a Chinese motorcycle company under Qianjiang. Recently, a bike named QJMotor SRV500 has been spied and it looks similar to the Benelli 502C.

The cruiser gets a Ducati Diavel-esque front headlight and a small fairing that sits on top of that. The fuel tank looks large, a visual trick aided by the fairing-like element that extends to the forks.

Finally, the seats neatly integrate neatly with the subframe and one feature that stands out is the mascot on the front mudguard, similar to the Benelli Leoncino.

QJMotor SRV500 spied seems to come with a 500cc parallel twin that will produce 47 HP and gets telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Also, the bike gets 18-inch rim at the front and a 17-inch rim for the rear.

There are more differences to the Benelli 502C as the SRV500 gets a different frame, a box-section swingarm, single disc at the front (instead of two), and no USD forks as mentioned above. However, on the flipside, the QJMotor cruiser weighs 198 kg, about 20 kg less than the Benelli 502C.

This is not the first time that a bike from QJMotor has looked similar to a Benelli product. Previous spy shots from Italy have shown that the upcoming Benelli TRK 800 is similar to SRB750 from, you guessed it, QJMotor.

Also, in China, QJMotor bikes have been caught with Benelli logos appearing on the digital instrument console. The official statement is that the two manufacturers are separate and the projects unrelated.

But we have heard this before from other manufacturers and history has shown us that sharing of parts and components between automakers under a big group is bound to take place at the slightest level at least.

At least the SRV500 does not look like a Diavel rip-off, which the 502C does
