Renault India has confirmed that the updated Kwid will make its debut on July 3. The facelift is expected to introduce styling revisions and additional features while retaining the existing mechanical package.
The exterior is likely to receive a refreshed design inspired by the Dacia Spring, Renault’s global entry-level electric hatchback. Spy images suggest the facelifted Kwid could feature new Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps, aligning it with the brand’s latest design language seen on newer global models. Redesigned front and rear bumpers, updated tail lamps with a matching lighting signature and a fresh set of alloy wheels are also expected. However, the main headlamp units are likely to remain halogen.
The cabin is anticipated to receive more significant changes. Renault is expected to equip the Kwid with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, along with a redesigned steering wheel, an updated instrument cluster and revised interior trim. The facelift could also bring improvements to the safety package, with six airbags expected to be offered on the updated model.
Under the hood, the Kwid is likely to continue with the familiar 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 67 BHP. Transmission options are expected to remain unchanged, comprising a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT.
The current Renault Kwid is priced between Rs. 4.30 lakhs and Rs. 5.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). With the added features and cosmetic enhancements, the facelifted model is expected to command a slight premium when prices are announced at launch.
