Renault Triber Updated With More Features, Prices Slightly Increased

Renault has introduced a set of updates to the Triber, focusing on improving everyday usability and redistributing features across variants. The entry-level MPV now starts at Rs. 5.81 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 8.48 lakhs (ex-showroom), with prices rising marginally across the lineup.

The update does not bring any cosmetic changes or mechanical revisions, but instead centres on feature enhancements and better accessibility inside the cabin. One of the key highlights is the introduction of automatic climate control, although this remains limited to the top-spec Emotion variant.

Another notable change is the revised second-row seat mechanism. While the fold-and-tumble function continues, Renault has repositioned the release lever to the top of the seatback, making ingress and egress to the third row more convenient. Additionally, the second row can now be folded completely flat, increasing cargo capacity to 1065 litres when both rear rows are down.

A major part of this update is the redistribution of features across trims. The Techno variant now offers equipment such as a driver seat armrest, height-adjustable driver seat, rear defogger, front tweeters, electric foldable ORVMs, and a 12V socket for third-row passengers. Meanwhile, the Evolution variant gains steering-mounted controls, a day/night adjustable IRVM, and a rear cabin lamp, features that were previously reserved for higher trims.

Prices have increased by Rs. 5000 for the base Authentic variant and up to Rs. 9000 for the top-spec Emotion trims, reflecting the added equipment.

Mechanically, the Triber remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 72 HP and 96 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an AMT option is available on the top variant. Renault is also expected to introduce a turbo-petrol version and a factory-fitted CNG option in the future, which could broaden its appeal further in the budget MPV segment.

Overall, the update aims to make the Triber more value-oriented by offering a richer feature set at lower trims, though the lack of a more powerful engine option continues to be a limitation for some buyers.
