Royal Enfield Classic Chrome Mileage

Royal Enfield Classic 350’s base variant was the only bike from the Classic range to omit a rear disc brake.

Royal Enfield has taken its own sweet time to offer a rear disc as standard

Royal Enfield has introduced a rear disc brake on the base variant of the Classic 350. The Classic 350 was the only bike from the Classic range which lacked a rear disc brake. The Gunmetal limited edition was the first model to get a rear disc brake in the Classic 350 lineup.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is now priced at Rs. 1.47 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), a premium of Rs. 8000/- over the now discontinued rear drum variant. Royal Enfield has been very slow in terms of safety features, which brings us to the fact that this Classic 350 doesn’t come with ABS. But now things are changing as Royal Enfield recently launched the Signals 350 which gets dual-channel ABS as standard, other standout feature in the Signals 350 includes cosmetic changes that upset Pegasus owners.

As of now, we will not get to see any other changes in the Classic 350 apart from a rear disc brake. The engine still displaces 346cc, producing 19.8 HP and 28 Nm with the same 5-speed gearbox. Competitor bikes come equipped with many more features at this price point.

The Classic 350 is the highest selling motorcycle from the whole Royal Enfield lineup. Looking at sales, RE sold 51,147 units of the Classic 350 in the month of May 2018, maintaining 8th position on the top 10 most selling bikes in India. The British brand’s next big launch are the 650cc twins which will go on sale early next year.
