Royal Enfield Himalayan Riding Off-Road [360° Video]

Royal Enfield Himalayan Torture Test

Royal Enfield has recently uploaded a 360° video from the rider’s point of view on a Himalayan which is riding on rough terrains with no problem whatsoever.

The Himalayan is powered by an all-new 410cc engine

Royal Enfield has recently uploaded a 360° video of an off-road ride taken on the Himalayan, this video is taken from the rider’s point of view and you can experience what it feels like riding the bike on rough roads in detail. The video also displays the off-roading capabilities of the upcoming adventure-touring bike along with the exhaust note which sounds like a proper off-roader with enough flow. Though the motorcycle is riding on gravel and the level of the ground is uneven, the Himalayan does it with utmost ease.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a newly developed LS400 engine, the 410cc single-cylinder oil-cooled motor produces 29 BHP and 40 Nm of torque which along with the smooth delivery is enough for off-roading. This engine will be mated on a 5-speed gearbox and comes with a very simple mechanism so that it can be repaired by any mechanic while on long tours. The spark plug has to be changed after a long 25,000 kms and the bike needs servicing only after 10,000 kms, so that it can go on long tours without the need of servicing it mid-way.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan looks like a proper off-roader with minimalist design for reducing weight. The headlamps are borrowed from the elder cousin, the Continental GT while the rear has got a new design. The new bike gets long touring front forks and an adjustable monoshock at the rear with disc brakes on both the knobby wheels. It rides on 21-inch front wheel while the rear wheel is 17-inch and the fuel tank capacity is 15-litres. The company will offer a number of after-market accessories for the adventure bike.

India got its first adventure bike in the form of the Hero Impulse which was launched in 2012 while the new Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to a give a kick start to the segment. A number of spy shots of the Royal Enfield Himalayan have floated which reveals the entire body, the manufacturer has also revealed the adventure bike through a number of videos while the official launch is scheduled for 2nd February.
