Skoda Compact SUV Under Development To Rival Hyundai Venue?

Skoda Kushaq Design

Upcoming Skoda compact SUV speculated to be a sub 4 metre vehicle

Skoda is speculated to be developing a new compact SUV that will be positioned below the Kushaq in the company’s lineup. It is expected to be a sub 4 metre model to compete with the Hyundai Venue segment.

The new compact SUV will be based on a modified MQB-A0-IN platform. Reportedly, the carmaker is currently setting up the assembly line of the new product. The new car is expected to launch in 2024.

These are all speculations currently and there is no official word about the new compact SUV from Skoda or Volkswagen. If it’s true then we believe the company is preparing to launch a volume spinning product.

It can become a desirable package in the segment having sharp design cues from its siblings, good quality interior, high safety rating and sorted driving dynamics.

We can expect Skoda to plonk in the 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options. We don’t think it will get the bigger 1.5-litre TSI unit from the Kushaq to keep the pricing in check.

Skoda will have to price it aggressively to put a dent in the sales of the rivals. It will compete against the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the likes.
