Skoda Revealed The Elroq vRS, Offers 340 HP and 550 Km Of Range
Skoda has revealed the performance version of the Elroq EV, the Elroq vRS. This version packs greater performance and all wheel drive. The Elroq vRS is the fastest Skoda to date, packing respectable acceleration figures. The Elroq vRS also gets a slew of sporty highlights to signify its high-performance nature.
Design Changes
The Elroq vRS’ design remains similar to the standard Elroq with subtle but effective changes that make it aggressive. There is the vRS-specific mamba green colour, revised bumper with body-coloured accents, and honeycomb pattern front grille.
Additionally, there is VRS badging on the front fenders, roof rails and the Skoda logo is blacked out. The vRS gets unique 20-inch and 21-inch wheels for the front and rear, respectively. The rear bumper receives blacked-out treatment with extended reflectors and tinted rear windows.
Powertrain Details
The Elroq vRS gets a 52 HP boost over the rest of the variants with the dual motor setup, similar to the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX. The total output equals 340 HP. This propels the Elroq vRS from 0-100 km/hr in just 5.4 seconds! This means it is the fastest Skoda ever made up to this point.
Battery Capacity & Range
The Elroq vRS uses the 84 kWh battery, as seen in the range-topping 85 variant, in a higher state of tune. As a result, the range has decreased by 32 Km, for a total of 550 Km. The Elroq vRS is also the fastest a Skoda can be charged, utilizing 185 kW DC rapid charging from 10-80% in just 26 minutes. It takes 8 hours to go from 0-100% using an 11 kW AC charger.
Mechanical Changes
There are also upgrades made to the suspension as the ride height is decreased by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear. This improves the stance but also makes the chassis stiffer as compared to before. The steering setup is also upgraded, and a 2 piston caliper setup is used for better stopping power.
Interior
The interior of vRS can differentiate itself from the rest of the Elroq lineup by offering bright green accents spread throughout. Alcantara trim has been used on the most visible surfaces such as dashboard, seats, centre console and much more. There are unique vRS graphics for the driver display and infotainment system.
Features
The Elroq vRS gets a 5-inch driver display and a 13-inch infotainment system. It can be optioned with an AR-optimised head-up display. Additionally, the features include front (optional for passenger) heated and ventilated sports seats with massaging function, ambient lighting, 4 fast-charging USB-C ports, wireless charger and an optional 12-speaker 675 W audio system, etc.
Outlook
The Elroq vRS is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2025 for the global markets. However, there is no confirmation of the Elroq vRS coming to India. Skoda showcased the standard Elroq EV, so it remains to be seen whether Skoda has intentions of launching the EV in the market.
