Skoda Kylaq Sportline Confirmed For September 2026 Launch

Skoda is set to expand the Kylaq lineup with the introduction of a new Sportline variant, scheduled to arrive in September 2026. The upcoming version will focus on cosmetic enhancements and a sportier visual appeal rather than performance upgrades.

Speaking about the development, Skoda India officials indicated that the decision was influenced by customer interest in a more dynamic-looking version of the compact SUV. While enthusiasts have expressed interest in a more powerful Kylaq, including the possibility of a larger 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, the company says such a move remains under evaluation and no decision has been finalised.

The Sportline badge is already familiar within Skoda’s India portfolio, having been offered on the Slavia sedan and Kushaq SUV. The Kylaq Sportline is expected to follow a similar approach by introducing darker styling elements and a more aggressive appearance while retaining the existing mechanical package.

Although Skoda has not revealed official specifications, the Sportline trim is likely to feature black-finished exterior details such as badges, mirror housings, roof treatment and other design accents. The cabin could also adopt a darker interior theme along with sporty touches like metal-finish pedals and contrast detailing.

The Kylaq is currently available in multiple trim levels ranging from the entry-level Classic to the top-spec Prestige+. Industry expectations suggest the Sportline variant could be positioned below the flagship Prestige trim, helping Skoda offer a distinctive styling package without significantly altering the SUV’s pricing structure.

Under the hood, the Sportline version is expected to continue with the familiar 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 115 HP and 178 Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are likely to remain on offer.

Interestingly, while the updated Kushaq recently received an 8-speed automatic transmission for its 1.0 TSI variant, there is currently no confirmation regarding a similar upgrade for the Kylaq.

With the Sportline variant, Skoda aims to broaden the appeal of the Kylaq by catering to buyers seeking a more sporty design without stepping into the territory of a full-fledged performance-oriented model.
