Skoda Peaq EV Unveiled With Up To 647 Km Range

Skoda has expanded its global electric vehicle portfolio with the unveiling of the new Peaq, a three-row electric SUV positioned as the flagship model in the brand’s EV range. The model joins Skoda’s growing lineup of battery-electric vehicles and targets the premium full-size electric SUV segment currently occupied by models such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai IONIQ 9 and Volvo EX90.

The Czech automaker is also assessing the possibility of introducing the Peaq in India, where it could become the brand’s most premium electric offering.

The Peaq will be offered internationally with two battery options and three powertrain configurations. The entry-level Peaq 60 uses a 63kWh battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 204 HP. Skoda claims a driving range of up to 459 km on a full charge.

Stepping up to the Peaq 90 brings a larger 91kWh battery and a more powerful rear-wheel-drive setup generating 286 HP. This version delivers the highest claimed range in the lineup at 647 km.

The range-topping Peaq 90x combines the 91kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 299 HP. Despite the additional motor, it still offers a claimed range of up to 613 km.

Performance figures vary across the range, with the Peaq 90x completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds. The Peaq 90 follows at 7.1 seconds, while the Peaq 60 takes 8.6 seconds.

For charging, the larger battery supports DC fast charging at up to 199kW, enabling a 10-80 percent recharge in 28 minutes. The smaller battery can achieve the same charging window in 27 minutes using a 160kW charger.

Measuring nearly 4.9 metres in length, the Peaq adopts Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design philosophy. The front end features a closed-off grille area with a gloss-black panel known as the Tech Deck Face, flanked by distinctive T-shaped Matrix LED lighting elements.

The SUV rides on aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches and gets flush-fitting door handles. At the rear, slim LED tail lamps mirror the front lighting signature, while a roof spoiler and sculpted bumper contribute to the vehicle’s aerodynamic profile.

Dimensionally, the Peaq measures 4874 mm long, 1867 mm wide and 1664 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2965 mm. Ground clearance stands at 184 mm.

Inside, the Peaq features a dual-tone cabin layout centred around a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. While touchscreen controls handle most functions, Skoda has retained dedicated physical controls for frequently used features such as climate settings and audio adjustments.

The equipment list includes a 16-speaker Sonos audio system, dual wireless charging pads, a panoramic sunroof and USB charging points across all three rows. The EV also supports bidirectional charging and introduces a digital key function compatible with smartphones and smartwatches.

An optional augmented reality head-up display is available, while a Relax Package adds AGR-certified seats with massage functionality, adjustable leg rests, fold-out tables and a wellness-focused software suite.

Safety equipment includes 10 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera system, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated parking functions.

The Peaq is offered with seven seats and provides 299 litres of luggage space with all rows in place. Folding the third row increases cargo capacity to 935 litres. A 37-litre front storage compartment is also available.

Skoda Auto India has confirmed that the Peaq is being evaluated for the local market. While no launch timeline has been announced, the electric SUV could arrive as a fully imported model if approved for India.
