Suzuki GSX-R250 Rendered Ahead Of Tokyo Motor Show Unveil

As per news reports, Suzuki will be displaying a 250cc supersport bike at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Rendering of the same has surfaced online and the motorcycle looks promising.

The Suzuki GSX-R250 looks pretty nice in the rendering

With riders across the world becoming more practical and demanding quarter-litre bikes for daily use, more and more companies are launching products in this space. Bikes ranging from supersport to adventure tourers, all are getting 250cc motors to make them more affordable and usable. With the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show coming up soon, all the three Japanese giants have plans to unveil quarter-litre bikes at the event.

While Kawasaki and Honda will be launching one model each, Suzuki has decided to go one up and will launch two 250cc motorcycles simultaneously. While one would be a more aggressive supersport, the other will be a relaxed adventure tourer. Details of the adventure tourer have been floating around the internet since the past couple of months but no details about the meaner machine have been out yet. Now, we have a rendering of the upcoming bike which is rumoured to be named the GSX-R250.

The name GSX-R250 isn’t new to Suzuki as it has had a bike with the same name earlier. As the name suggests, it will be powered by a 250cc engine but no details of the motor are out yet. We expect the Suzuki Inazuma’s 250cc parallel-twin unit to do duty here too albeit in a different state of tune considering the engine is currently tuned for touring purpose. It will face stiff competition from other bikes in the segment on sale already.

From the looks of it, the Suzuki GSX-R250 is impressive. The muscular design with twin headlamps upfront and a beefy fuel tank sets it apart in a sea of motorcycles. The alloy wheel design looks eerily similar to some of the current bikes on sale in India. The clip-on handlebars would lead to a committed riding posture and will improve the handling. All that remains to be seen is that how does the actual bike look and when is Suzuki planning to launch it in the Indian market.

The 250cc Suzuki will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3
