Suzuki Intruder 150 Images & Specs Leak; Avenger 150 Beware

Leaked images of Suzuki Intruder 150 has surfaced on the internet ahead of its official launch in India.

Proportions of the Intruder 150 are huge by 150cc motorcycle standards

Suzuki has been closely eyeing the affordable cruiser segment for a while now. Dominated by Bajaj’s Avenger series, this segment has great potential in our country due to the comfort and practicality on offer. Suzuki’s answer to the Bajaj Avenger is the upcoming Intruder 150 which is slated to be launched on 7th of November. Leaked images of the cruiser reveal crucial details of the production version and the Intruder 150 is nothing but a Gixxer in cruiser attire.

First things first, there is no denying that the Suzuki Intruder 150 looks way too bulbous for its engine capacity. Speaking of engine capacity, this motorcycle borrows the 155cc air-cooled engine from the Gixxer lineup producing 14.8 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque. As is the norm at this price point, this motor is matched to a 5-speed gearbox. In spite of the huge proportions and bulky design, the bike doesn’t have a hefty kerb weight at 148 kgs.

Sizable tank extensions merge with the fuel tank to give a masculine stance. The Suzuki Intruder 150 gets LED projector headlight, claimed aerodynamic tank, all-digital instrument cluster lifted straight from the Gixxer and LED tail-lamp. The wide handlebar, massive headlight cowl and huge comfortable seats remind us of the higher-capacity Intruders sold abroad. The Gixxer-inspired dual port exhaust looks unusually upswept for a cruiser and the Gixxer sized tyres (100 and 140 section at the front and rear respectively) look small for all that mass. Alloy wheel design is the same as we have already seen on the Gixxer siblings.

The suspension setup comprises of telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear. While the braking department is headed by disc brakes at either end, the Intruder 150 gets the option of single-channel ABS from the Gixxer SF at a marginal price premium. While the specs are nothing to brag about, it is the appearance that will result in much-needed footfall in Suzuki showrooms.

No doubt, the Suzuki Intruder 150 looks like a promising product. It is expected to be positioned higher than the Avenger 150 with the ex-showroom price hovering around the Rs. 1 lakh mark. The Japanese manufacturer attempts to dethrone the undisputed king of the segment, the Bajaj Avenger, with this new entrant.
