The performance centric Suzuki Swift Sport has been spotted on Indian soil for the first time. The hot hatch was spotted at the IGI airport in Delhi.

No, don’t get excited folks, the Swift Sport won’t go on sale in the country. It is likely to be used for development or internal purpose.

The Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a K14B 1.4-litre BoosterJet turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 138 BHP at 5500 RPM and 230 Nm at 2500-3500 RPM. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The top speed of the hatch is claimed to be 210 km/hr while the 0-100 km/hr official timing is 8.1 seconds. The Swift Sport gets 17-inch alloys shod with 195/45 section ContiSportContact+ tyres.

While the Swift Sport is not going on sale in India, the Jimny is expected to come with a 5-door version. The production of the compact SUV will commence this year, while we can expect a market launch early next year.
