New-generation Suzuki Burgman teased with design updates ahead of April launch
Suzuki has previewed the upcoming generation of its Burgman scooter through a social media teaser, confirming an official launch on April 2. The Burgman, which first entered the Indian market in 2018, has remained a consistent performer in the company’s portfolio and is widely associated with popularising the maxi-style scooter segment in the country.
The teaser highlights a redesigned front end, most notably featuring a split headlight setup. This marks a departure from the current model’s design and appears to draw inspiration from larger international Burgman models, indicating a more premium styling direction for the new version.
Over the years, the Burgman has seen limited updates, with the most notable change being the introduction of the Street EX variant in 2022, which brought a larger 12-inch rear wheel. However, the overall design and mechanical package have largely remained unchanged since its debut.
The upcoming model is expected to undergo more comprehensive revisions. Based on recent updates seen on the Access scooter, Suzuki could introduce structural and mechanical changes alongside the visual refresh. The Access received a new chassis and internal engine updates while retaining similar output figures, suggesting that the Burgman may follow a similar approach – focusing on refinement, efficiency and improved packaging rather than outright performance gains.
While detailed specifications have not yet been revealed, the new Burgman is likely to carry forward its current positioning as a comfortable, urban-focused scooter with a slightly premium appeal.
At present, the Burgman range is priced between Rs. 93,676/- and Rs. 1.08 lakhs (ex-showroom), depending on the variant. The extent of updates and any potential price revision will become clearer at the time of launch.
