Tata Curvv EV SeriesX Launched At Rs. 16.99 Lakhs With 55kWh Battery

Tata Motors has expanded the Curvv EV range with the introduction of the new SeriesX variants, aimed at making the higher-capacity battery option more accessible to a wider set of buyers. The updated line-up brings revised pricing and feature combinations while retaining the existing powertrain options.

The SeriesX range includes two variants – Accomplished X and Empowered X – priced at Rs. 16.99 lakhs and Rs. 19.19 lakhs (ex-showroom), respectively. The Empowered X is also offered in a Dark Edition at Rs. 19.49 lakhs. With this move, the Accomplished X becomes the most affordable variant to feature the larger 55kWh battery pack.

Earlier, the entry point for the 55kWh version started at a higher price point, making this update a notable shift in positioning. Interestingly, the new variant undercuts even the entry-level 45kWh version in the line-up, indicating a strategic push to prioritise higher range offerings.

The 55kWh Curvv EV variants deliver a claimed driving range of up to 502 km and are powered by an electric motor producing 167 HP and 215 Nm of torque. The smaller 45kWh battery version offers a lower output of 150 HP while maintaining similar torque figures.

Charging times vary depending on the method used. With a 7.2kW AC charger, a full charge takes over seven hours, while DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 40 minutes.

The Accomplished X variant focuses on core comfort and convenience features. It includes a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch displays, wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera system.

The higher-spec Empowered X variant builds on this by adding more premium equipment such as a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 9-speaker JBL sound system and powered front seats. It also enhances safety with a Level 2 ADAS suite offering multiple driver assistance functions. Additional highlights include 18-inch aero wheels and vehicle-to-load (V2L) as well as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities.

Tata Motors is also offering a lifetime warranty, defined as 15 years from the date of registration, on the 55kWh battery pack. This move is likely aimed at addressing long-term ownership concerns and improving buyer confidence in electric vehicles.

With the introduction of the SeriesX variants, Tata Motors appears to be focusing on improving the value proposition of the Curvv EV, especially in the higher range category. By lowering the entry price for the 55kWh version while maintaining feature-rich variants, the company is positioning the model competitively in India’s growing electric SUV segment.
