Tata Nexon Diesel Drive Mode Specs Revealed

Tata Nexon Review

Tata Nexon diesel drive mode specifications revealed, makes 69 HP, 89 HP and 108 HP in Eco, City and Sport modes respectively.

Only in Sport mode, the 1.5-litre diesel mill produces the full 108 HP and 260 Nm

The Tata Nexon was launched back in September last year with 2 engine options – a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel mill. Called the ‘Revotron’, the petrol mill churns out 108 horses and 170 Nm of torque while the diesel powerplant termed as ‘Revotorq’, produces 108 HP and 260 Nm of torque. Both the powerplants come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The sub-compact SUV comes with 3 driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. The Eco mode is tuned to deliver optimum fuel efficiency and the Sport mode, in contrast, enhances the performance of the vehicle. The City mode slots between Eco and Sport modes and offers the best of both worlds. A document from Tata shows the exact power and torque figures for each of the driving modes of the diesel engine. The SUV’s ECU limits the oil-burner to just 69 HP and 180 Nm in Eco mode while in City mode, the power maxes out at 89 HP and 220 Nm of torque. In Sport mode, the engine produces the full 108 HP and 260 Nm.

Tata Motors recently launched Aero Kits for the Nexon and will launch the AMT versions of the compact SUV by May 2018. The vehicle’s chief competitor is the Ford EcoSport although it also rivals the Maruti Vitara Brezza which is Indian’s top-selling SUV.
