Tata Nexon To Get Paddle Shifters – More Interior Details Revealed

It will get styling cues from the Curvv concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo

New generation Tata Nexon expected features and interior details including paddle shifters

Tata Nexon upcoming model’s interior details revealed including paddle shifters, new steering wheel, dashboard details, etc. Let’s find out what are the changes in the new Nexon compared to the current version on sale.

Design

While there will be some drastic changes in terms of styling, the overall silhouette of the new Tata Nexon looks very similar to the current version. The updated design will get cosmetic changes borrowed from the Curvv concept showcased at the recent Auto Expo.

It will come with a sharper front profile having a new grille on the nose, new set of headlights and a revised bumper to lend it a fresh look.

The side profile looks similar but will come with new alloy wheel design. The rear will get a new tailgate design, new tail lights and sharper bumper design, again, to match the overall sleeker look.

Interior

The Indian carmaker is expected to completely change the interior look of the Tata Nexon. Have a look at the interior spy shot and you will notice a completely new dashboard. It will get a larger touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from its elder siblings Harrier and Safari.

There is a new two-spoke steering wheel design that we have seen in previous spy shots but the most interesting thing you’ll notice here are the paddle shifters. Tata Motors will be offering paddle shifters for the first time with the new Nexon.

Other changes in the cabin will include new seats with revised cushioning, new door panels, etc. We don’t expect any major changes in terms of interior room and boot space since it will continue to be based on the same platform.

Features

Tata Motors will offer a large touchscreen infotainment system with the latest user interface. The carmaker will also provide an all-digital instrument cluster as well for the range topping trims.

The new two-spoke steering wheel is likely to get illuminated Tata logo as we have seen on the Curvv concept at the Auto Expo.

You can notice the wireless phone charging pad ahead of the centre armrest, that’s a convenient place to store the phone. There will be a new touch pane in the centre console to control the air conditioning and other functions of the infotainment system.

Other expected features include bigger sunroof, 360 degree camera, premium speakers, ADAS, 6 airbags as standard, ventilated front seats, auto headlights, rain sensing wipers, etc.

Engine

Tata Motors is expected to offer both petrol and diesel engine options with the new Nexon. The compact SUV will get a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 125 PS and 225 Nm of torque. It will come with a new DCT automatic transmission option and a manual gearbox option as well. The diesel mill will be the same 1.5-litre unit producing 113 BHP and 260 Nm of torque. Tata will be offering electric powertrain and CNG option as well like the current version on sale.

Price

Tata Nexon is currently one of the highest selling compact SUVs in the Indian market. In order to keep the volumes spinning, the carmaker needs to maintain the aggressive pricing with the new model. We expect it to come with a price range of Rs. 8-16 lakhs (ex-showroom). Launch is expected ahead of this festive season.
