Tata Vista, Honda City, Jazz Tested By ASEAN NCAP [Video]

ASEAN NCAP crash tests are back! After testing out various cars earlier this year, the committee has tested three more cars, out of which two are already on sale in India. First up, we have the Tata Indica Vista that has been crash tested. The variant which was tested was the GZX variant that comes with a 1.4-litre petrol engine. The vehicle gets two front airbags and ABS. The Tata Vista managed to score 9.24 adult occupancy points, scoring 3 stars out of 5. The driver’s chest right lower leg had marginal impact resistance while other body parts had good resistance. For the front passenger, the right leg had adequate impact resistance while other body parts had good resistance.

The new Honda Jazz has also been tested out by ASEAN NCAP. Honda will be launching the hatchback in India in the near future. The 1.5-litre petrol SV variant has been tested which comes with dual airabgs, ABS and ESC. The Jazz scored an impressive 15.58 points which translates to 4 stars out of 5. The variant that gets 6 airbags scored 5 stars. The driver and front passenger both remained nicely resistant to impacts with most body parts having good impact resistance.

Finally, the ASEAN NCAP has tested the fourth generation Honda City. The SV 1.5-litre petrol variant has been tested and it comes with dual front airbags, ESC and ABS. The Indian production variant, however, does not get ESC. The City scored 15.80 points which translates to 4 stars out of 5 for the dual airbag version and 5 stars for the variant with 6 airbags. The City too provides good impact resistance for most body parts, just like the Jazz. Meanwhile Global NCAP will be testing more cars in India in the near future.
