Honda Activa continues to dominate the top 10 selling bikes list for September 2017.

The month of September has been quite satisfactory for the two-wheeler industry in India. In spite of the festive season, two-wheelers (cumulatively) in the top 10 list grew by a meager 6 percent when compared to August’s sales.

The Honda Activa continues to rule the roost here selling 3,22,922 units, down by over 12,000 units when compared to August 2017’s sales. Following close to the Activa, is its geared rival, the Hero Splendor. The Splendor sold 2,48,293 while the Hero HF Deluxe sold 1,74,743 units in September 2017. Following the Splendor and HF Deluxe is yet another Hero, the Passion.

The Hero Passion and TVS Jupiter grabbed the fourth and fifth spots in the list selling 98,453 and 93,573 units respectively. The Honda CB Shine slips two positions by selling 87,547 units in September 2017. The TVS XL Super sold 84,934 units and currently sits at the seventh spot.

Interestingly, the Hero Glamour maintains the eighth spot selling 84,634 units. Bajaj seems to be marketing its brand of bikes very smartly and the sales increase of the Pulsar and CT 100 show. Bajaj sold a total of 84,095 Pulsars (including Pulsar 150, NS 160, 180, NS 200, 220 and RS 200) as opposed to 58,795 units in August 2017. Following the Pulsar is the CT 100 which sold 78,493 units in September 2017, occupying the tenth spot.

Hero sold 55,508 units of its 110cc scooter, the Maestro, and following it is Bajaj’s Platina which sold 47,712 units in September 2017. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 parks itself at the thirteenth spot selling 47,674 units while Suzuki’s Access sold 41,676 units as opposed to 26,779 units in July 2017. The TVS Apache series positions itself at the fifteenth position selling 39,526 units in September.

Sitting in the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth spots are Honda’s Dio, Dream series and Livo selling 39,397, 31,421 and 24,624 units respectively. TVS’ Star City sold 23,462 units in September 2017 while the Sport sits at the twentieth spot selling 23,291 units.

Yamaha’s FZ and Honda CB Unicorn 150 fight it out for the twenty-first spot but the FZ edges out the Unicorn by a meager 339 units. Yamaha’s stylish and retro scooter, the Fascino parks itself at the twenty-third spot selling 21,274 units while the Hero Duet and Yamaha Ray sell 17,830 and 15,405 units respectively in September 2017.
