The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is still going strong

In June 2021, 200-500cc bike sales dropped only by 1 percent when compared with the same period a year ago

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 took top position in the 200-500cc bike sales chart for June 2021 by registering sales of 17,377 units.

It was followed by its stablemates the Meteor 350 and the Bullet 350 which found 8770 and 8454 new homes, respectively, this past month.

Bajaj sold 4443 units of its Pulsar 180 and NS200 (combined) in June, whereas its old workhorse, the Pulsar 220F found 3540 takers during the same time.

Honda’s competitor to Royal Enfield’s Classic, the H’ness CB350 registered only 1853 unit sales. The Japanese firm should reconsider its decision of retailing the bike only through its BigWing outlets.

Hero MotoCorp’s 200cc adventure motorcycles sold under the Xpulse moniker registered sales of 1833 units to take seventh place in the June 2021 200-500cc bike sales chart.

Sales of the Jawa range remain muted

Next up is the Jawa range, 1563 units of which were sold by Classic Legends, followed by the KTM Duke 200 with 1404 units and the Royal Enfield Himalayan at a distant last with 684 unit sales.

As can be seen, half of the motorcycles in the top 10 200-500cc bike sales list witnessed year-on-year (YoY) sales degrowth, meaning only the Xpulse 200, Duke 200 and the Jawa range posted sales growth (Meteor 350 and CB350 have yet to complete a year in the market).

In all, the bikes in the list registered sales of 49,921 units combined, while during the same period last year they posted 50,553 unit sales, resulting in a 1 percent YoY sales degrowth.
