Sales of performance motorcycles, like many other bike segments, dropped in June 2021

Performance bike sales in June 2021 were higher than in May and the 650 twins from Royal Enfield continue to lead the sales.

In June, the popular middleweight motorcycles from Enfield registered sales of 530 units and were far ahead of their competitors.

Second-placed Kawasaki Z900, for example, could only register sales of 46 units, while Triumph sold 37 units of the Trident 660 during the same period.

Suzuki’s Hayabusa has been selling better than hot cakes (35 units sold in June) and the brand which is struggling to meet demand for the bike worldwide has to increase production soon.

The Street Twin from Triumph came fifth in the June 2021 performance bike sales list with 23 unit sales, followed by the Kawasaki ZX-10R with sales of 22 units.

The Street Twin did well to post 130 percent sales growth last month

Triumph’s Tiger adventure models found 21 new homes this past month, while Honda’s 650R twins were ridden home by 18 individuals.

In ninth and tenth places sat the Triumph Street Triple and the Kawasaki Ninja 650, which registered sales of 16 and 15 units, respectively.

Overall, the vehicles in the list registered sales of 763 units combined, which is a 16 percent degrowth year-on-year (YoY), as they had fetched 909 unit sales during the same period the year before.
