The midsize segment saw its sales rise by a solid amount

The Hyundai Creta tops the March 2021 midsize SUV sales chart, once again crossing the 12,000 unit sales mark with ease.

Like the Creta (12,640 units), the Kia Seltos also continues to have a strong customer base, for in the month of March, 10,557 units of the SUV got sold.

In third place sits the MG Hector range which found 4720 takers collectively. Sales of the SUV range grew by a whopping 237 percent year-on-year (YoY).

Cars occupying positions 4 to 7 in the March 2021 SUV sales chart are pretty closely matched. Beginning with the Maruti S-Cross (2535 units), the list then proceeds to the Mahindra Scorpio (2331 units) and the 2 Tata models – Harrier (2284 units) and Safari (2148 units).

Like the Hector, the Tata Harrier also saw its sales rise big time, registering a 261 percent YoY growth. It is followed by the Compass, which is the final model in the list to have cross the 4-digit mark with 1360 units.

In all, the combined sales figure of the cars in the list stands at 39,886 units, which is a 132 percent YoY growth.

The Gloster has settled in the third position for now

Coming to the premium SUV sales in March 2021, it is evident which car buyers prefer the most in this category, as the Fortuner (2136 units) leads with a comfortable margin over its competitors.

Ford is also shifting a reasonable number of units of the Endeavour of late, and in March, the firm sold 1024 units of its premium SUV. It is followed by the Gloster from MG, 505 units of which were retailed this past month.

Fourth-placed Hyundai Tucson managed to find 143 buyers in March and it is followed by the Alturas G4 from Mahindra, 49 units of which left the showrooms last month.

Honda’s CR-V contributed 1 unit to the total sales figure of 3858 units in March 2021, which was a 158 percent growth over the same period the year before.

The inclusion of Legender variant in the Fortuner range seems to have done the trick
