Toyota Fortuner GR Sport Spotted In Thailand

It is based on the Legender variant of the Fortuner

The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport spotted recently was completely camouflaged

Toyota seems to be readying a sportier variant of the Fortuner called GR Sport for the Thailand market.

Based on the Legender variant and likely to be placed above it, the new variant of the SUV was spotted recently in Thailand.

Although the completely camouflaged development mule looks pretty much like the Fortuner Legender, it can be differentiated due to it sporting larger wheels, that have the same design as the stylish variant.

Also the recently spotted Toyota Fortuner GR Sport comes with red-coloured brake calipers, further revealing its sporty nature.

Large wheels and red brake calipers indicate that it is a more sportier version

To go with the theme, the Japanese carmaker is expected to tweak the bumpers of the SUV, while the radiator could very well be restyled as well.

But, no changes are expected to be made to either the sheet metal or the lighting units. Expect to see a different seat upholstery on the inside though.

Although Toyota is likely to stick with the current engine lineup, the GR Sport variant might be offered with a diesel hybrid heart.

Rumours also suggest that the 2022 Land Cruiser’s 309 PS 3.3-litre diesel motor could be plonked under the bonnet of the vehicle. But, such doubts will be cleared when the model gets unveiled this year.

Having already launched the Fortuner Legender in India (costs Rs. 38.30 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi), Toyota could bring the GR Sport to the market too.
