Toyota Innova Facelift Spied In Indonesia, Brochure Leaked

Toyota Innova, which is known as Toyota Kijang Innova in Indonesia gets a facelift which is due for a August 19th launch. The updated version has been spied recently in Indonesia. It gets only cosmetic changes on the exteriors as well as interiors. The new version gets treated with oodles of chrome all around. The front end boasts a massive grille highlighted in chrome with three chunky slats and gets a redesigned front bumper with new fog lamp housing. It will be available with a new pattern of alloy wheels.

The rear gets a wide chrome garnish supported with new number plate housing, revised roof spoiler which is now bigger in size and a fresh bumper with a sporty lip. On the inside, the new Innova gets a touchscreen multimedia system and new fabric seats. In India we get only three variants, while in Indonesia, Toyota offers six variants – J, E, G, G Luxury, V and V Luxury. According to the leaked brochure, the entry level J variant won’t get facelifted and instead will get equipped with dual airbags.

The Toyota Innova E variant will get the new changes but it will come with black door mirrors and without front fog lamps. The G trim now gets added with touchscreen multimedia system, new fabric seats along with body coloured door mirrors and front fog lamps. The range topping V trim gets all the updated features and includes the rear chrome garnish which other models don’t get. There are no mechanical changes and it continues with the same engine options.

We can expect the facelifted Innova to be launched early next year. However the changes to the Innova are not very welcome as cosmetically they seem to be done for the sake of it with all those chrome additions looking like an after thought. Common Toyota, wake up and give us an all new Innova, it’s high time. The current generation Innova was launched 9 years back and has got no significant update since then.
