Triumph Thruxton 400 Spotted Testing Ahead Of Launch

Triumph Thruxton 400 Spotted Testing Ahead Of Launch, Gets Headlight Fairing As Well As Red Paint Finish With Silver Stripe

Triumph has been spotted testing the Thruxton 400, ahead of its launch. The upcoming retro cafe racer will be positioned above the Scrambler 400 XC. The test mule had a red paint finish, which could be the launch colour of the bike.

Styling

The most notable highlight of the Thruxton 400 is the headlight fairing, distinguishing it from the rest of the brand’s 400cc bikes. There are bar-end mirrors and a seat cowl. In addition to this, the test mule had a dual-tone shade of red with a silver stripe.

Engine

Triumph will utilise the same 399cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine for powering the Thruxton 400. The engine produces 39.5 HP and 37.5 NM of torque. It pairs with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Thruxton 400 may change the final drive ratio to suit its sportier characteristics.

Features & Pricing

The Triumph Thruxton 400 will have a similar feature list to the Speed 400. This would mean that it will get LED lighting, switchable ABS and traction control, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. We expect that the Thruxton 400 will cost around Rs. 2.7 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Market Positioning

Triumph will position the Thruxton 400 above the Scrambler 400 XC. This would mean it would sit at the top end of the Triumph’s 400cc lineup. The Thruxton 400 is the 5th motorcycle in the lineup, after Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Speed T4, and Scrambler 400 XC.
