Finally, Triumph has opened bookings for the Tiger Sport 660 in the country

Triumph Motorcycles India has begun accepting bookings for the Tiger Sport 660 ahead of its market launch scheduled to take place soon.

The pre-booking amount has been set at Rs. 50,000/- and, when it gets launched, the sports tourer should become the second most affordable product in the brand’s Indian portfolio.

The fact that the British motorcycle brand aims to locally assemble the sport-tourer here should result in the bike being introduced in India with a competitive price tag.

Unveiled in October this year, the middleweight machine based on the Trident 660 roadster features distinctive styling that seems very much inspired by Italian motorcycles.

It should be a hit among buyers, like the Trident 660

While it is longer, wider and taller than the naked bike it is based on, the Tiger Sport 660 is also 17 kg heavier at 206 kg. Also, the bike has a large 17.2-litre fuel tank.

It comes with full-LED lighting units and a TFT dash, while its electronics package includes ride-by-wire throttle, 2 riding modes (Rain and Road), ABS and switchable traction control.

Power comes from a 3-cylinder, 660cc motor delivering a maximum of 81 PS and 64 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.

With the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 bookings having commenced, it should not take that long for the motorcycle’s launch to happen here.
