VinFast Green SM Cab Service India Launch On June 5

Vietnam-based ride-hailing company Green SM is set to enter the Indian market on June 5, 2026, marking a new entrant in the country’s app-based mobility sector. The company, backed by Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, will initially launch its services in the Delhi-NCR region before gradually expanding to additional cities.

Green SM currently operates in several Southeast Asian markets, including Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines. The company follows a different business model from many existing ride-hailing platforms, as its fleet consists exclusively of vehicles manufactured by VinFast, Vingroup’s electric vehicle arm.

For its India operations, Green SM is expected to deploy the Limo Green electric MPV, a fleet-focused version of the VinFast VF MPV 7. According to VinFast India CEO Tapan Kumar Ghosh, the model will share the VF MPV 7’s 60.13 kWh battery pack but will receive a separate certification for commercial fleet usage in India.

The VF MPV 7 is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified driving range of 517 km and is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 204 HP and 280 Nm of torque. However, the fleet-spec Limo Green is expected to feature changes aimed at commercial operations, including revised branding, a simplified equipment list and a different interior configuration.

Recent test vehicles spotted on Indian roads carried Green SM branding and featured steel wheels with wheel covers, indicating a more utilitarian setup compared to the passenger-focused VF MPV 7. The model is expected to offer a seven-seat layout and a darker cabin theme.

Apart from the Limo Green MPV, the VinFast VF5 electric hatchback is also expected to join the company’s fleet in the future. With the launch of Green SM, VinFast will become part of a growing list of automakers supplying vehicles for fleet and ride-hailing services in India.
