Volkswagen T-Roc Back On Sale For 2021, Bookings Commence

Volkswagen T-Roc Review Test Drive
The compact SUV costs the same as it did last year

Volkswagen has put the T-Roc back on sale in India in 2021 after the allocated 1000 units for 2020 got sold out in the ninth month of last year.

Bookings for the SUV are open and Volkswagen seems to have retained the introductory price of the compact SUV, which is Rs. 19.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).

It is said that the German carmaker has reopened bookings due to high demand and that deliveries of the car could begin from next month onwards.

Brought in as a completely built-up unit (CBU), the T-Roc is built on Volkswagen Group’s MQB vehicle platform. It is powered by a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine that is good for 150 PS and 250 Nm. The motor is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic.

No changes seem to have been made to either the exterior or the interior of the compact SUV. If all of the 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc units also get sold out relatively quickly, there is a chance that the compact SUv might be locally assembled here.

This would result in the asking price of the car coming down and would give another product for Volkswagen to play with in the flourishing compact SUV segment, for the brand will soon launch the Taigun as well.

The exact number of units that Volkswagen will sell in 2021 is not known
