Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Launched, Priced From Rs. 11 Lakhs

The updated Volkswagen Taigun has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 11 lakhs (ex-showroom). The facelift brings subtle yet noticeable styling revisions, feature additions and a key mechanical upgrade, while retaining its core focus on driving dynamics, safety and practicality.

The refreshed Taigun is available in seven trims: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, Topline, GT Line, GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport. The wide variant spread continues to cater to both value-focused buyers and performance-oriented enthusiasts.

On the outside, the facelift introduces a redesigned front fascia with a slimmer grille, connected LED DRLs and an illuminated Volkswagen logo, giving the SUV a more contemporary appearance. The headlamp design has also been revised, drawing inspiration from global Volkswagen models.

The side profile remains largely unchanged, aside from new alloy wheel designs. At the rear, the SUV gets updated LED tail lamps with revised detailing and a tweaked bumper for a cleaner look. New colour options such as Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey have been added to the existing palette.

Inside the cabin, the layout stays familiar but receives minor enhancements. New upholstery themes and improved materials aim to elevate the in-cabin experience. A panoramic sunroof has been introduced, adding a sense of space and modern appeal.

Feature updates include a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an AI-based voice assistant. Other highlights include ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, a wireless charger and automatic climate control.

The Taigun continues to offer a strong safety package, including six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist and all-wheel disc brakes. Additional features such as multi-collision braking, electronic differential lock and parking sensors further enhance occupant safety.

Mechanically, the SUV retains its 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. However, the smaller engine now gets a new 8-speed torque converter automatic option, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. The 1.5-litre engine continues with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Taigun competes in a crowded compact SUV segment against models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, among others.

Overall, the facelifted Taigun builds on its existing strengths while addressing feature gaps, making it a more well-rounded offering in its segment.
