The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has been discontinued weeks before the refreshed Tiguan gets introduced

Volkswagen has discontinued the 7-seat Tiguan Allspace premium SUV even as the German brand is getting ready to launch the facelifted 5-seat Tiguan in the second week of December.

The 3-row SUV had an extended version of the regular Tiguan’s chassis, with 110 mm added between the wheels. It was packed to the rafters with features too.

Some of the tech it had include a digital instrument cluster, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, among others.

It also had a whole host of safety features including 7 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, ASR and even a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Tiguan Allspace rivalled the Toyota Fortuner, Citroen C5 Aircross, Hyundai Tucson and the like

Powered by a sole 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor delivering 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, the SUV had a 7-speed DSG and all-wheel drive.

With the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace discontinued, there will be no 3-row offering from the brand in India for a while. But, that should not be the case once the facelifted Tiguan Allspace gets introduced in India next year.

The refreshed SUV gets new lights, radiator grille, 2 more colour choices, and updated features, which includes the safety tech as well.

While the current model cost Rs. 34.20 lakhs (ex-showroom) before being discontinued, the facelifted Tiguan Allspace should cost a touch more, while still retaining the same mechanical bits.
