Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0 Reaches Dealerships, Priced At Rs. 94,305/-

With the official launch scheduled by the end of September, the 2014 Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0 has started arriving at dealerships across the country and will come at a price of Rs. 94,305/- (on-road, Gurgaon). A comprehensive update on the lines of its street-fighter sibling the FZ/FZ-S, the new Fazer gets upgrades to the half-fairing for a more modern and appealing design, while mechanically the motorcycle gets a fuel injected powerplant for better throttle response and improved fuel efficiency.

The updates are pretty impressive on the Yamaha Fazer 2.0 with the revised headlight and windscreen design, while the fuel tank, side and tail section have been revised along the lines of the new FZ, for a leaner look than the outgoing model. There is also the inclusion of split seats, rear tyre hugger and a new exhaust unit that adds to the sporty appeal of the updated Fazer. The bike is also expected to weigh lesser than the outgoing model at around 138 kgs that should help improve performance.

Sharing its powertrain with the 2014 FZ FI 2.0, the Yamaha Fazer 2.0 draws power from the same 149cc single-cylinder engine with fuel-injection technology that produces 13.1 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed transmission. The bike also gets Yamaha’s new Blue Core technology for optimum fuel efficiency and performance. The bike will continue to get 41 mm telescopic forks at the front, while a monoshock setup does duty at the rear. Stopping power on the other hand comes from a single disc brake in the front and a rear drum brake setup. No disc at the rear though has been given even as an option.

The 2014 Yamaha Fazer FI 2.0 also gets the tablet like instrument console and switch gear from the FZ and will be available in three colours namely red, white and black. The touring motorcycle rides on 100/80/17 front and 140/60/17 rear tyres that have been updated with softer compound and new tread design for improved traction. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Fazer has been priced at a significant premium of around Rs. 6000/-. Yamaha is expected to start deliveries of the bike immediately after launch.
